Chalmers Library Symposium

  • Start date: September 23, 2015
  • Location: Gothenburg, Sweden

This year’s Chalmers Annual Library Symposium (ChALS) – Make your mark! – focuses on research impact and (alt)metrics. Understanding research impact and evaluation has become increasingly important for universities world wide. As academic libraries participate in scholarly communication and dissemination there is a need to learn more about emerging methodologies and services. At this year’s ChALS we are gathering some of the most knowledgeable speakers and service providers in the sector. Confirmed speakers include:

  • Johan Bollen, Associate professor from the School of Informatics and Computing at Indiana University who researches social media, metrics and usage data.
  • Stacy Konkiel, currently Research Metrics consultant at Altmetric and previously Director of Marketing & Research at Impactstory.
  • Mike Buschman, Co-founder of Plum Analytics – a service for measuring research impact who will share the ideas and vision behind the service.
  • Richard Bond, Head of Research Administration at the University of West of England who will share experiences on how the UK Research Excellence Framework assesses impact and  the response of UK HEI.
